Leonardo Boreale Shimmer Ink Bottle – 40ml

Boreale is the Italian word for “northern”, as in the aurora boreale, the northern lights. Leonardo Boreale Shimmer Ink brings a touch of that night-sky magic to your fountain pen: a blue ink with shimmer particles that glint as your writing catches the light.

Why writers love it

Blue is the most popular fountain pen ink colour for everyday writing, and Boreale gives it a special twist. Your notes stay easy to read, but headings, signatures and letters get a lovely sparkle when you look at them from an angle.

Ideas for using Boreale

Try it for winter greeting cards, travel journals, star-themed bullet journal spreads, letters to friends or simply to make your daily planner feel a little more magical.

Pen pairing advice

Shimmer ink shines best in pens with a generous ink flow and a medium, broad or stub nib. A demonstrator (clear) pen is a particularly fun choice, since you can see the sparkle inside the barrel too. Shake the bottle gently before each fill, and flush your pen with water regularly so shimmer particles don’t settle in the feed.

Properties

Boreale is not a fast-drying ink and is not water resistant. It comes in a 40ml glass bottle from Italy.
