Big pages for big ideas

A4 gives you room for long letters, calligraphy practice, ink swatches and drafts. On white Tomoe River paper, inks show their true colours, and special inks reveal their sheen and shimmer more clearly than on almost any other paper.

How the pad works

The sheets are held with a gentle glue along the short top edge, so you can tear off a page cleanly whenever you need it, for a letter or to file away. The first sheet is a blotting sheet you can use under your hand or to dry fresh ink.

White paper, black cover

The pad has a smart matte black cover with the Tomoe River logo, while the paper inside is bright white. White paper shows ink colours most accurately, which makes this pad the favourite for ink reviews and swatching.

Frequently asked questions

Is the paper black?

No, only the cover is black; the 100 sheets inside are white Tomoe River paper.

Will fountain pen ink bleed through?

Tomoe River resists bleed-through very well, though its thinness means you will see some show-through.

Is there a cream version?

Yes, the same pad is available with cream paper as SR-A4LC.
