Sailor 1911 Casual Shikiori Kusa Asobi Ball Pen – Sasabune GT

Fold a long bamboo leaf just so, set it down on a stream, and watch it drift away. Japanese children call these little leaf boats sasabune, and the Sailor 1911 Casual Shikiori Kusa Asobi Sasabune ball pen captures the colour of the water they float on. It’s a gentle blue resin finished with gold plated trim, and it’s one of the most soothing pens in Sailor’s Kusa Asobi series.

A small story in your pocket

What we love about the Shikiori range is that every pen carries a tiny piece of Japanese culture. The Kusa Asobi series (“playing with grass”) remembers the nature games of childhood, and Sasabune is its water-and-leaf entry. It’s the kind of detail that turns a premium ball pen into a conversation piece.

Built for daily use

• Twist mechanism: quick to deploy, nothing to lose, no clicking
• Resin body: light, warm and comfortable in the hand
• Size: 134mm long and 12mm in diameter, a comfortable full-size pen
• Weight: 22g, balanced for long notes and signatures

It uses the classic Sailor 1911 shape, with its rounded cap end and tapered barrel, so it looks polished on any desk.

Great for

Students, writers, travellers and anyone who loves blue. It also makes a thoughtful gift for friends who are fascinated by Japan.
