About Cross

Cross is one of America’s oldest pen makers, crafting writing instruments since 1846, and its pens are known for sleek lines, dependable quality and a lifetime of everyday use. The Calais is one of its most popular modern ranges, designed with a wide, confident profile and smooth contours.

Solid brass construction

The Calais is made from brass, so it has a real, solid feel in the hand. It weighs 33g in total (13g cap, 20g barrel), measures 138mm capped and 166mm posted, and has a comfortable 13mm diameter. The snap cap clicks on and off quickly, making it handy for jotting down notes and signing documents throughout the day.

Smooth Medium steel nib

This pen comes with a steel Medium nib that gives a smooth, consistent line, ideal for signatures, everyday notes and letters. Medium nibs are forgiving and easy to use, which makes the Calais a comfortable choice for anyone new to fountain pens.

Filling

The Calais uses ink cartridges or a converter. Please note that cartridges and the converter are not included in the box, so add Cross ink cartridges or a Cross converter to your order to start writing straight away.
