Leonardo Pura No.8 Steel Nib Fountain Pen – Frosted Red RT

Red and gunmetal is a striking, slightly edgy combination, and the Leonardo Pura No.8 Steel Nib Fountain Pen in Frosted Red RT wears it well. The frosted red resin body is paired with dark ruthenium trim, giving this oversized Italian piston filler a bold, modern personality.

An extra nib option

This version of the Pura is offered with an Extra Fine nib as well as Fine, Medium and Broad. That makes it a great choice if you write small, keep a detailed planner, or use thinner paper. All options are large No.8 steel nibs.

Ruthenium: the modern metal

Ruthenium plating has a deep, gunmetal-grey tone. It’s less common than chrome or gold, and it gives the Pura an understated, contemporary edge that pairs beautifully with the frosted red.

Size and feel

Capped, the Pura measures 156mm; posted, 172mm. Its 16.8mm diameter makes for a relaxed grip, and the 30g weight (10g cap, 20g barrel) keeps it stable on the page without tiring your hand.

Piston filling made simple

1. Twist the piston knob at the end of the barrel to lower the piston.
2. Dip the nib fully into your ink bottle.
3. Twist the knob back to draw ink into the barrel.
4. Wipe the nib and you’re ready to write.
